Confidentiality, Privacy, Caring, and Coordination:
Your care is confidential and private: everything you
say to me, stays with me ... with TWO limitations:
- When YOU give me permission -- Such as working with your family doctor; and
- The LAW -- when protection over rides privacy -- The most common limitations are: if a
person has a plan and intent to hurt themselves or another, child abuse, and inability to care for themselves.
- In your first session we discuss this in more detail.
Coordination: I like to work with your doctor in helping
you. It's not necessary, but if you are on certain types of medications (such as antidepressants) it's something I think
is very important.
Care: I firmly believe no one cares what you know ...
till they know you care! I promise you I'm not perfect, but I do care.
Education: I am a licensed psychologist, which means
I am licensed by the state to provide psychological care. I am not a medical doctor, so I can't prescribe medication. I received
my Master's degree from Wheaton College, Illinois.
